Portal of the Redemption
The main entrance of the cathedral is from the portal of the Redemption built at the end of the 1300s.
The sculpture shows the characteristics of German art, similar to the portal of the Incoronation on the north side of the Cathedral, now walled up, executed by a German sculptor in 1396. In 1283 the Cathedral was extended.
By 1500, chapels built along the sides of the naves were present, giving the building the appearance of a five-naved temple.
