Chapel of Saint Mar
The left nave begins with the chapel of Saint Mark along the left wall there are paintings featuring the Marriage of the Virgin and The Transit to Saint Joseph by Maffeo da Verona (c. 1615). The altar made by Simone Pariotto with reliefs by Antonio Budo (1744) frame the altarpiece by Giovanni Martini (1501) representing Saint Mark throned amongst Saints Steven, John the Baptist, Jerome, Hermagoras of Aquileia, Antonio and the blessed Bertrand of Saint-Geniès. The predella of the altarpiece (lowest part of the altarpiece) features Saints Roch, Sebastian and Homobonus and Lucia painted by Domenico Ruggeri (1744). In the center there is The Virgin and Child, an image venerated since 1380 under the title “Small St. Mary” or “St. Mary of of Health” (Madonna della Salute).
Leaning against the pillar there is Saint Anthony of Padua, sculpted by Valentino Panciera, known as Besarel (1902).
